Abi England, a former pupil gives an update on the recent TKS celebration.

‘We had a great time at The King’s School’s 40th Anniversary celebration on Saturday 19th October. As a former pupil, I really enjoyed the chance to tour the buildings and to see what has changed over the 10 years since I was there! In particular I loved the colourful designs on the walls – previously just plain white – and the smart new senior uniform. Massive thanks to Trinity (Year 6) and Emily (Year 9) for showing us round and for being so well informed!

The tours were followed by bountiful quantities of cream tea, and testimonies from former School Principals. It was amazing to reflect on the history of the school, the challenges it has faced over the years, and how each was overcome. God’s faithfulness was a like a thread woven throughout the story of The King’s School, alongside the faith of those pioneering and leading in the school. We finished the afternoon off with birthday cake and an opportunity for fellowship.

Many thanks to all involved in putting on such a great event. It felt truly honouring to the whole history of the school, while also casting our eyes forward to pray for what the next steps for them might be. Let’s pray that the next 40 years will be just as fruitful as the first 40!’
